About Katie Lee

Katie Lee is a multi-media artist, currently working in Columbus, OH, at the Milo Arts artist community. She primarily works in painting, drawing, and book arts. She also has experience in sculpture and installation work. Lee’s work currently invokes themes of memories, nostalgia, homesickness, identity, and family. Many of her works reference old family photos and photos from her present life.

Katie Lee’s books are her favorite thing about her practice. She feels this medium helps convey her ideas best, as she can create a narrative around her theme. All of her books are handcrafted, utilizing many binding techniques.

She hopes to help her viewers reflect on their past and their memories deeply as a way to discover true identity. She wants her work to call-up the viewers own nostalgia as a form of self love and acceptance.
