May We Seek The Proper Compensations and Consolations for What We Have Left Behind, 2024

Completed in September 2024 on the outside walls of 934 Gallery in Columbus, OH. This piece was inspired by my homesickness, specifically the longing for my childhood self, as well as my desire to be back in college again. The images reference photos from my childhood with my family, as well as parts of my life from school that helped shape me. This mural grew in meaning overtime, as memories from college faded as I became more comfortable in my new life; Also, two of my grandparents passed in 2025, which heightened the importance of these images, and saddened me even more when they were painted over. Included below are finished images, in-progress images, and some reflections I wrote after completion with the original reference images.
