Milo Arts District Cat Shelter, 2024
Completed in November 2024 as an art of a metal shed to be installed in my neighborhood for stray cats to take shelter in during the winter. I took inspiration from my friends and neighbors cats, as well as my own. The three cats on the bottom (Pepinot, Slinky Malinky, and Edgar Allen Poe) were originally neighborhood stray cats, found in the brush near our building where many of the strays would hide and take cover. They were adopted by my neighbor and friend, Julia Barrett. The stray-cat brush was taken away, to make room for land development. We hope this shelter is a good-enough new home for the stray cats still on the street.
